Accessibility Statement

Akari Buckhead wants everyone to be able to learn about the community and request a tour on this website, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or reduced-motion settings.

Our target

We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We check the site with automated accessibility testing and by using it with a keyboard alone, and we fix what we find.

What the site does

• A "Skip to content" link is the first thing the keyboard reaches.
• The menu, slideshows, floor plans, neighborhood guide and tour form can be used with a keyboard. Choosing a place in the neighborhood guide opens it on the map.
• A "Pause motion" button in the opening section stops the background video and the slideshows. If your device is set to reduce motion, they start paused.
• Every tour form field has a label, and the form says so when an email address is missing or not valid.

Known limitations

These are the parts we know fall short, or have not been tested yet:

• Neighborhood map. The map itself is a picture of streets. Each place pin can be reached with a keyboard and is named, but panning the map needs a mouse, touch, or the arrow keys once the map has focus. The list beside the map has every place and its description.
• Directions. "Get Directions" on the map opens Google Maps, which is run by Google and is not covered by this statement.
• Move-in date. The move-in date field uses your browser's date picker, so how it looks and reads depends on your browser. On screen, before a date is chosen, it shows the date format rather than the words "Desired move-in date".
• Slideshow dots on small screens. On screens narrower than 372 pixels the slideshow dots are hidden. The previous and next arrows still move between every slide.
• Testing so far. The site has been checked with automated tools and a keyboard in one browser. It has not yet had an independent audit or testing with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, or JAWS.

The leasing office is open Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM. It is closed on Sunday.
